Parents Association

The Mercy School Parents’ Association is made up of all the parents and guardians who have children at our school.
The Parents’ Association Committee is formed each year from volunteers. All parents and guardians are welcomed and encouraged to volunteer for this committee. Please see the contact details below for further information.
The Parents’ Association Committee works in collaboration with our school management to:

  • Promote the interests of all our children
  • Enhance the learning environment of all our children
  • Raise funds for, and contribute to, school initiatives and activities
  • Support community events involving the school and parents

Our Parents’ Committee organizes and helps with a number of school activities:

  • Active School’s week and Sport’s Day.
  • World Book Day.
  • Shared reading initiatives for 1st and 2nd class.
  • Language workshops and coffee mornings for new parents.
  • First Communion and Confirmation celebrations
  • Fundraising for regular school costs for example outdoor play equipment, bus hire for matches and school events.
  • Sustainable clothing swap events for uniforms, Halloween costumes and Christmas jumpers.
  • Celebrate our different cultures Day.
  • End of year quiz.

The Parents’ Committee is a voluntary body and relies upon the commitment of its members and the support of everyone to contribute to improving the educational experience of all our children. New members are welcome to attend our AGM in the autumn term, to bring fresh energy and new ideas to the committee.
